The weekend is officially over and it is now Monday morning. The alarm clock is going off and it is time to get the kids ready for school and get yourself ready for work. What motivates you to get out bed?. For me, it's the fact that I love my job as Human Resources. But like some of you, I wish I didn't have to work for a living or I could find ways to work for myself, However that is not the case for most of us.
Monday Mornings are hectic for me. I have to get myself up as well as the boys and prepare breakfast. Then I squeeze in time for myself before dashing off to pick up 3 more kids to take to them to school, by this time it is 7:15 and I have to be at work by 7:30. Passing the local starbucks is not an option for me, so I sit in the drive thru to pick up a grande caramel frappuchino prior to heading to work. By the time I actually get to work, it's 7:35.
What are your morning routines before you actually start working? For me, I turn on my computer, check my messages and turn on my music, I am ready to start my day.
What are some of your morning routines or motivations to get out of the bed in the morning?
Working from home
I woke up this morning only to find that my car is gone and I have no money. My husband has not only taken my car to work, but he also took my last dollars left on my night stand. On a normal day I would be very upset, however on this day I'm not. I am working from home today, a trend that has recently caught on in the work force.
How do you feel about working from home? I love working from home especially since my kids returned to school, I can really focus on my work. But how much work are you actually doing.
If you are home, you are compelled to do the laundry, run the dishwasher, clean the house....everything except working. You find yourself skimming through the channels or even popping in a movie. On this day, I am having lunch with my friend. We are taking advantage of our new found freedom. For her, all 3 of her kids are now in school. For me, the ability to work from home.
I found a way to work from home without being at home. How is this possible? Nowadays most of us have those smart phones with email capabilities and you can gain access to your work and personal emails. They are wonderful. I can shop at the mall, I can run errands, I can get my nails done, but how much work am I actually doing.
Is this wrong?
